Over the weekend I hacked together a podcast feature I want: re-run a podcast from its first episode, with following episodes showing up as “new” on either a weekly or daily schedule.

So you can work your way through all the episodes of a podcast as though they started coming out today, if that makes sense.

Just sharing in the hopes someone steals the idea and puts it in a decent podcast app so I can use it!

John Buckman has the details on putting Magnatune streams into your Second Life land. This is a great idea. Users get royalty free music for their lands, Magnatune gets promotion. Very cool. 

Something I was thinking of: is there an easy way to stream podcasts into Second Life lands? That'd be another huge source of royalty free audio and would be pretty interesting. Virtual radio stations.

When I read this post by Jay it got me thinking. He posted an audio ad for his own podcast and asked anyone to include it in their podcast and that he'd reciprocate by playing their ad in his podcast.

Which made me Google around a bit and now I'm asking: is there a site for ad-trading like that? Seems like it'd be a nice thing to have especially for the more hobby-level podcasts. You could organize straight-up paid advertising but then also simple ad trades between podcasts.

I was on the show CTRL-ALT-ROCK on GameSHOUT radio yesterday. There's supposed to be a Podcast of it around but I can't find it in the podcast listing. They played a lot my songs and were quite nice and I managed to keep the lid on my nearly decade and a half obsession with Ultima 7.

After a few people told me to do it, my album I Don't Know What I'm Doing is "Podsafe" now. You can find it here. Complaint #1: there seems to be basically an unlimited number of sites for musicians to upload their music to and they rarely, if ever, allow you to specify URLs. You have to upload each song individually off your hard drive like a chump. I'd like a meta-submitting/uploading service. Like an automated street team. Or sites should make it less annoying. I have MP3s on my fast website with neatly labeled ID3 tags. Please take advantage of that.

My other complaint is that these sites all have blogging services with no option to syndicate your own blog from somewhere else. I'm not going to start blogging on Myspace or Podsafe or whatever. There's no way. But if you were to syndicate my RSS feed, you'd have the illusion that I was participating and I would possibly build readers on your service (tying me to it, which is what you want) rather than just having a big empty blog there.

Podcasting Star Wars: Winer vs. Curry is a good overview of the first melodramatic spat of podcasting between Dave Winer and Adam Curry. Now they need to have it out on a lava planet.

O'Reilly Radar >Podcast support in next version of iTunes. Jobs also takes an SNL-swing at podcasting describing it as "Wayne's World for radio".

While I wait around for my CDs, I thought I'd give podcasting a try. Sellout Central is a simple show featuring five independent songs that I really like. The first episode is online now. I've also included links to all the MP3s for those of you who still like your audio in song-sized chunks.

I'm going to be presenting an award on The Skinny on Sports' award show podcast - The Skinnies. Presenters include Adam Curry, Dave Slusher, Michael Geoghegan and some other familiar names. Apparently listeners have the chance to win a 1 gig iPod Shuffle and Etymotic 61 earphones, the show should be up on and after Wednesday.

I'm working on a lot of Brad Sucks related stuff and hope to start actually finishing some of those things soon or at the very least die in my sleep and have them released posthumously.

While reading up on Hawaii for a vacation, I stumbled across HawaiiUP, subtitled "Podcasting in Paradise". Hawaiian podcasters? That's pretty awesome. Turns out there's a whole Hawaii Association of Podcasters and here's a list of them.
